Being Refreshed

Time with my family is a time to be refreshed. Running on the beach, sitting together in the beach condo, riding bikes against the wind, having breakfast together as the sun shines on us which all soothes the soul. I lift up praises for the opportunity to enjoy my family even though we seldom see each other. God has called me to leave the known and familiar to reach children who need a second chance.
Abraham "Obeyed and went even though he did not know where he was going." Hebrews 11:8b
Leaving the comforts of home on this earth must not compare to Jesus leaving his heavenly home to reach us.

Pure Water

Hebrews 10:22 "Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water."
Franklin the bright blue Beta fish is a wonderful new addition to our family. We enjoy watching him swim around with the sunlight shining into his bowl. Such a simple creature, yet so elegant. Who would have thought he could draw such attention from my three year old son who informed me the fish was doing a great job swimming.

Early Learning

"My son, pay attention to what I say: Listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." Proverbs 4:20-23

Thank you Lord for the chance to mold young minds.
The chance to nurture young hearts.
The chance to spend every minute (no matter how tiring) with three boys whom I dearly love.

Small Reminders

Luke 12:22-26
Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you do not worry about your life, what you will eat: or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn: yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?"

There is nothing sweeter than the background noise of birds chirping with satisfaction as they come to our feeder by our dining room window.
Let it be a reminder of how much God provides for my daily needs as well.
